Fruit Wines
Blackberry -
The Lake Erie region supplies us with the juice for
this luscious desert wine. By fermenting this wine
slowly at low temperature and controlling the acid,
we were able to achieve the sweetness & fruitiness
we wanted at a lower sugar level. Blackberry pairs
well with the richest, most intensely flavorful deserts.
Blueberry -
Made from fresh New Jersey Blueberries, this wine
bursts with flavors entirely from the fruit. Our Blueberry
wine was a Blueberry was a Gold Medal winner at the
2010 Florida State Fair Wine Competition. Loaded with
healthy antioxidants, it pairs well with flavorful
deserts.
Cranberry -
This wine starts with Cranberries from New Jersey.
After fermentation we sweeten this wine to about 5%
sugar, but because of the natural tartness of cranberries,
this wine tastes about as sweet as our semi-sweet
whites like Cayuga and Vidal Blanc. Makes a fantastically
refreshing spritzer.
Mulled Apple -
Like apple pie in a bottle. This wine starts with
freshly pressed apple juice. After fermentation, it
is sweetened to about 4% sugar (medium-sweet) and
lightly flavored with our own custom blend of spices.
Serve warm or cold. GOLD MEDAL WINNER 2008 Keystone
Wine Competition.
Pomegranate
Tangy tart like pomegranate juice, this wine is
great with poultry, even a chicken salad sandwich.
We did our best to keep this wine tasting very much
like pomegranate juice, so much so that some customers
have found it too fruity for their taste. Blend
with some vodka or gin for a pomegranate martini.
Red Raspberry -
100% Fruit Wine. Raspberries from the Lake Erie
Region are the basis for this lightly sweet country
wine. The rich flavor of raspberry pairs well with
chocolate. One of our customers even replaces the
water in her favorite brownie recipe with Red Raspberry
wine for a special treat!
Acai Berry-
From the rainforests of South America comes
the Acai berry, fruit of a palm tree. With much
less acid than most fruits, the juice, and resulting
wine, have a soft, smooth almost creamy mouth-feel.
The flavor starts like a very low acid strawberry
which morphs into a blueberry and finishes with
white chocolate. All the flavor is 100% from Acai.
Very unique, only a handful of wineries in the USA
produce Acai wine--aren't you curious?
White Wines
Cayuga - Semi-Sweet White
This wine is made from Cayuga grapes from the Lake
Erie Region. It is lightly sweet and crisp like
a Riesling. This wine compliments Asian food, especially
slightly spicy Thai food. Also, a nice change from
Pinot Grigio for just sipping anytime.
Chardonnay - Dry White
Our Chardonnay grapes are purchased from Lancaster
County. Stainless steel finished, only partial malolactic
fermented, this is a leaner style of Chardonnay
(i.e. not “buttery”).
Niagara - Sweet White
This wine is made from 100% Niagara grapes from
the Lake Erie Region. It is sweet and grapey, with
wonderful fruit (grape, peach, apricot) and floral
aromas. A perfect little something sweet before
bed. Serve chilled.
Nouvelle
All the white grapes from our own vineyard 2009
crop went into this white wine made in the style
of a Boujoleus Nouveau. The result is a slightly
sweet wine with lots of rich peach and apple notes,
similar to Piesporter. Excellent with nutty cheese,
mushrooms, shellfish or shrimp.
Riesling
Very crisp, lively acidity balanced by about
3% residual sugar. Similar to, but more intense and
with a bit more structure than our Vidal Blanc and
Cayuga wines. Classically paired with German dishes
like veal sausages and spaetzel. It's also great paired
with lighter fish, especially trout.
Summer Sangria - Sweet White
Our white sangria is a combination of Vidal Blanc
and Chardonnay. Then we add natural citrus flavor
to create a refreshing party favorite for summer or
any time of year. Serve chilled, over ice or blend
with ice for a sangria slushy.
Vidal Banc 2010 - Semi-Sweet White
This wine was made using grapes from the Lake Erie
Region. It is lightly sweet and very much like a German
Liebfraumilch (like Blue Nun). Great with chicken,
mild fish, grilled vegetables, appetizers or for just
sipping anytime.
Red
Wines
Cabernet Sauvignon 2003 - Dry Red
2003 was a cool wet summer in southeastern Pennsylvania.
Cabernet Sauvignon needs a lot of sunshine to ripen
properly, and in 2003 it took until late October before
these grapes were harvested. What we got is a light
styled Cabernet, not too tannic with notes of green
pepper. Serve with beef.
Cabernet Sauvignon Proprietors Reserve - Dry Red
Cabernet Sauvignon, the king of grapes. This a hearty,
full bodied Cabernet with stout tannins and a long
finish. Hallmark notes of black currents and cherries
are underpinned by smoky barrel aromas. Serve with
richly flavored meats and game. Classically paired
with Lamb Chops.
DeChaunac
Made from hot-pressed Lake Erie DeChaunac juice fermented
in the mid-50 degree range to keep it exceptionally
fruity. The result is lots of plum and a hint of tangy
raspberry in the nose with rich, ripe plum on the
tongue and just enough tannins to prolong the finish.
Chancellor - Dry Red
Chancellor, also known as Seibel 7053 is another French-American
hybrid grape developed around 1860 by Albert Seibel.
It produces a Burgundian style red wine, reminiscent
of Pinot Noir, that goes well with light and dark
poultry.
Concord - Sweet Red
Named for Concord, New Hampshire where this native
American variety was discovered, Concord is the quintessential
grape we have known since childhood. This wine is
sweet and tastes very much like grape juice. Concord
is a delicious sweet treat with the health benefits
of red wine.
Rose
Bank Wines - Red/White Blends
Rose Bank Blush - Lightly Sweet
2006 Bronze Medal winner at the Keystone Wine Competition.
Our Blush wine is a marriage of red and white wines
with just a hint of berry. Perfect in place of White
Zinfandel. Not too sweet, with just enough acid for
balance, our Rose Bank Blush compliments chicken,
pork, nutty cheeses and fresh fruit.
Dessert
Wines
Raspberry Secret
A sweet raspberry wine infused with the unmistakable
taste of real chocolate! Serve slightly chilled with
dessert or as a dessert itself.
Chocolate
Orange Port
Fleming's Chocolate Orange Port
- This is a higher alcohol (about 18%) dessert wine
made from clarified orange juice, not grapes. Sweet
at 8% sugar and infused with chocolate, this wine
is reminiscent of the foil wrapped chocolate orange
candies popular around the Holidays. Serve chilled
after dinner.
